To all members of the tribe,
It seems like you only have to blink and several weeks fly by. There is progress to report on all fronts. In particular:
- Printing of the Hardcover and Leatherette books is almost done
- Printing of the GM screen and Player Handouts is done
- PDFs of the Old School Runequest source pack will be available in about one week
- Updated PDFs of the Rulebook, GM Screen and Handouts are done and will be on BackerKit this Sunday
- The RuneQuest Playtest Manuscript is all scanned in (over 250 pages) and mostly cleaned up for printing (should go to print within two weeks)
- The Guide to Glorantha and the Atlas have had their bookmarks cleaned up and will be on BackerKit on Tuesday the 16th.
Speaking of BackerKit
We have about 90 backers that still have not completed their info in BackerKit. Even if you only pledged $1, you have the chance to upgrade or purchase add-ons, so every backer should take a spin over to BackerKit and click through the short number of steps to finish your order. If you do not, we'll just lock it down as is on Tuesday February 16th when we lock down all orders. Locking Down all the orders means a number of important things:
- You will not be able to change the items on your order in BackerKit
- Your credit card will be charged
- Kickstarter Prices may no longer be available, and retail prices may be higher
- Kickstarter exclusives will no longer be offered
Please remember that you can always update your shipping address! That does NOT get locked.
Progress has been made on most of the stretch goal books. We are scheduled to have all of the PDFs done by April, 2016. Yes, in about 2 months. As each one is completed it will be made available for download immediately. Thus, some of them will be available this month, and then every week or so thereafter. I will be posting more specifics on each stretch goal book late next week.

BackerKit and PDF Downloads

To all members of the tribe,
Thus far the BackerKit website has exceeded our expectations in most respects. About 24 hours after the surveys were sent out to all Backers, we have already had 1350 backer surveys completed, with another 830 or so backer surveys in process. For those of you receiving printed books, completing the survey involves picking your add-ons, filling in your address and phone number, and adding your payment method. For those of you getting only PDFs please pick your add-ons and a payment method. If you are having problems with your payment method, please message us and we can arrange for paypal payment.
HOTMAIL EMAIL PROBLEMS
For some reason, most hotmail email users are not getting their BackerKit emails. Even if they request a resend of the survey email nothing is showing up. In short, it appears that hotmail is automatically labelling all backerKit emails as spam and sending them straight to your spam/junk folder. The best advice thus far is to directly access your hotmail account, not the account you may have your hotmail emails forwarded to. If you have your hotmail emails forwarded you do not have access to the spam folder. You have to directly access hotmail to get to the spam folder where you will, in all likelihood, find the BackerKit emails. The only other alternative that has worked is to use a non-hotmail email account for BackerKit. In the end, we'll find a way to get this to work. Hang in there.
PDF DOWNLOADS
There are currently three PDFs available for immediate download: The RuneQuest Classic Rulebook, the player handouts, and the GM screen. While the first three PDFs are available for immediate download, all remaining PDFs will not be available until we have locked in all purchases in BackerKit. By "locked in" we mean that you will not be able to change what you have purchased, and we will have collected all money owed for any add-ons and postage. The next PDF we will make available for download will be the Guide to Glorantha PDF bundle. The rest of the PDFs are still being worked on. Some, like Fangs and the OSR Source Pack bundle, are close to being done and will be ready very soon. In general, they will get created and made available for download in stretch goal order.
When will the rest of the PDFs get done?
Many of the PDFs are fairly well on their way to completion. In particular, we have done most of the preparation work for Cults of Prax, Cults of Terror, RuneMasters, Plunder, Griffin Mountain, Pavis, and Big Rubble. The others are being worked on, but will need a bit more time. Regardless, we have placed all the RQ Classic PDFs and books into the 2016 production schedule. The year 2016 is a magical year for Glorantha, being its 50th anniversary. We want you to enjoy reading and PLAYING these books as part of that celebration. In some ways, RQ Classic will become a "book of the month" club, with regular releases every month or so, with a few months having several titles getting released. We'll have a more detailed release schedule for 2016 in a future update. (Rick IS an Issaries merchant. Blame Griffin Mountain, where Rick's character worked for Joh Mith.)
How long can we buy stuff in BackerKit?
We have not decided on the exact date. In all likelihood we will make a last call for add-on purchases and such within two weeks, possibly as early as some time next week. As soon as we know that date, we will announce it several times and call for last orders. That does not mean you will never get the chance to purchase many of these items again. It means this Kickstarter and the Kickstarter "early adopter" prices will conclude. If you want the best price and first access to what we have on offer, NOW is the time to get it. Once we switch to regular order mode the prices will only go up, and the Kickstarter exclusive items will be unavailable.
When in doubt, please message us. We are here to help. Like you, we are new to BackerKit. We will do all we can to get you to the finish line. Lots of awesome is already available, with far more coming over the next few months.

BackerKit goes Live!

To all members of the tribe,
BackerKit has given their final approval to our project and I have just sent out ALL of the backer surveys. They are going out at the rate of about 10 per second, so they should be on their way by the time I get this update posted. Thank you for your patience as we have set up BackerKit. It has been a bit of a learning curve to optimize how it works. I think you will be pleased with its features and functions.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or problems please email or message us and we will get them explained, sorted, and/or corrected as soon as possible. We want this Kickstarter to focus on awesome products for your roleplaying enjoyment, not become a roller coaster ride of unexpected events.
While set up was underway I have been reviewing the proofs for the rulebook, GM screen, and player handouts with the printers. They have required a few tweaks and fixes, but it will all be done this week, and then the printing presses will start rolling. It's shaping up to be PDFs in January and books in February.

To all members of the tribe,
The first bit of news is that Kickstarter has finished their collection of payments. Only 10 backers were unable to get their payments processed, which means we had a 99.5% success rate with that phase of the process. If any backer was unable to get their payment processed, please message us and we can easily make other payment arrangements. We don't want anyone to miss out on all of the RQ Classic goodness coming out throughout 2016. Since doing the Guide to Glorantha Kickstarter the way payments are processed has changed. We do not know how quickly the funds will be deposited into our bank account. As of a few minutes ago, no payments have been made from Kickstarter to us. While the money sorts itself out we have been busy with a number of tasks.
We continue working on all the PDFs in particular, so we can shortly start sending the download codes and such to you. We have also been reviewing digital proofs from the printers so printing can begin shortly after the new year for the Classic Edition Rulebook (hardcover and leatherette), GM screen, Player Handouts, and the OSR Source Pack. As we get each additional book ready for print we'll send out an update. Work on Plunder, Runemasters, Cults of Prax, and Cults of Terror in particular are very far along in production.
The other big effort that is nearly complete is getting everything setup in BackerKit. For those of you not familiar with it, it is a company that has a great deal of experience and tools available to fulfill Kickstarter rewards and for gathering the info we need from backers. BackerKit will allow you to fine tune what you have purchased, as well as being our store for additional purchases. More on it shortly.

"I bought, we won"

To all 2176 members of the tribe,
Thank you once again for joining us on an epic journey. We have achieved so much these last 24 days. We hoped for 1000 backers, were amazed when we passed 1500, and stunned to have over 2000. That's almost one backer for every page of Classic RuneQuest we will be reprinting. Yep, over 2000 pages back into print, and even some things that have never been in print. The flurry of pledges at the end got us all the way to TrollPak. There was definitely a community Heroquest performed to break a bit of the troll curse that banished the boxed set decades ago. It was a pleasure to watch its return. Well done, indeed!
Having 2176 backers believing in this project proves that there is a lot of magic left in RuneQuest. We have added another dimension to the Old School Renaissance via Old School RuneQuest. With $206,819 pledged, you have done your part, and now it is up to us to do the rest. The RQ Classic edition PDF, GM screen PDF, Handouts PDF and the Fangs PDF will all be made available for download shortly, once payments have been processed. The RQ Classic rulebook files have already been sent to the printers. Happy Holidays!
